Why Choose Rosenborg Castle for Your Marriage Proposal?

Rosenborg Castle is one of Copenhagen’s most iconic landmarks, making it a fantastic choice for a marriage proposal. Conveniently located in the heart of the city, it’s easily accessible and a must-visit for any tourist. However, if you’re not particularly interested in exploring the castle’s interior, simply admiring its stunning exterior and the surrounding gardens is more than enough to create a magical experience.

As a proposal photographer in Copenhagen, I’ve found that couples love this location for its versatility—it looks breathtaking in every season. That said, if you want the most romantic experience, I highly recommend choosing this place if you’re proposing late March and early April. This is when delicate crocuses start to bloom, adding a touch of romance to Copenhagen’s slowly awakening nature.

One thing to keep in mind is that Rosenborg Castle and its gardens can get quite busy, especially during peak hours. If you’re hoping for a more private and intimate moment, timing is key.

    Rosenborg Castle Proposal

When Tim reached out, he had a flexible plan for his proposal—he knew the date but was open to location suggestions. Given the timing, I recommended Rosenborg Castle, especially because of the beautiful little flowers blooming in the King’s Garden at that time. They add such a romantic touch to proposal photos!

The day itself was lively and full of people—with the sun shining, locals were out enjoying the weather. But that worked in our favour, making it easy for me to blend in while capturing the big moment.

After the joyful “Yes!”, we took a short walk around the gardens, using Rosenborg Castle as the backdrop for some stunning portraits. This gave Tim and his partner a chance to soak in the moment together while naturally capturing their happiness.

Once we wrapped up the session, I left them to enjoy the rest of their Copenhagen experience—now as an engaged couple! Their love story is below!
