The Royal Library Garden Proposal
Rain was falling in Copenhagen when Emma and Bill arrived at one of the city’s most beautiful gardens, completely unaware that the weather would become part of their Royal Library Garden wedding proposal.
Emma and Bill had travelled from the USA and were looking for a quiet, intimate place for their proposal in Copenhagen. The Royal Library Garden, also known as Det Kongelige Biblioteks Have, was a perfect choice. Tucked away in the centre of the city, it offers greenery, beautiful historic surroundings and a peaceful atmosphere while still being close to Copenhagen’s main sights.
Then the rain arrived! For Emma and Bill, the weather became part of the story. Instead of waiting for the rain to stop, they embraced the moment and went ahead with their plans. The garden felt even more intimate, and the rain added a lovely atmosphere to their photos.
I love how these images turned out. There was something very personal about having the garden almost to themselves, with Emma and Bill able to focus on each other and enjoy this incredible moment together. You can plan the location, choose the timing and hope for perfect weather, but sometimes the unexpected details are what make a proposal feel completely yours.
The Royal Library Garden can be busier at certain times of day, particularly during the summer months, with locals, visitors and other photographers passing through. If you would like a little more privacy, I recommend planning your proposal for a quieter time.
