Why Choose a boat Proposal in Copenhagen?
If you’re looking for an intimate, romantic way to propose in Copenhagen, a sailboat is such a great choice. The city’s canals are not only gorgeous but also make for a truly symbolic proposal backdrop. It’s a perfect way to escape the crowds and have that special moment all to yourselves.
The weather on the water, however, is a bit of a wild card. It can be windy and a little rough, or you might get a peaceful, calm ride—it’s part of the charm! And the best part? You don’t need any sailing experience! Companies like Goboat and Friendships will take care of everything, so all you need to do is enjoy the moment.
Prices start around 500 DKK (~75 USD) for a one-hour private sail, and I do recommend booking a week in advance during the busy summer months. Just keep in mind, the wind can pick up, and rain is always a possibility, so make sure you’re prepared. If you’re someone who’s easily seasick, it might not be the best option, but otherwise, it’s a beautiful, memorable way to propose!
A+ A’s Secret Proposal on a Sailboat
A+ A, visiting Copenhagen from Italy, wanted a proposal that was unique and intimate—something away from the crowds. A sailboat on Copenhagen’s canals was the perfect choice. They decided on mid-spring, when the waters are relatively calm (summer can get quite busy), and opted for an early afternoon sail to enjoy the full brightness of the day.
After the heartfelt “yes,” I celebrated with them by popping some champagne before stepping back to let them enjoy the moment and the rest of their Danish adventure. Their Italian energy and enthusiasm made it such a fun and unforgettable experience. Congratulations, A+ A!
