Summer Elopement on Ærø Island
Stephanie and Ian travelled from Ireland to get married on Ærø Island, choosing this serene Danish destination for their intimate summer ceremony.
The wedding day began at their hotel in Marstal, where I documented the final moments of preparation. We then travelled together to the historic Ærøskøbing City Hall for their ceremony. The exchange of vows was brief but heartfelt, and afterwards, the officiant offered them glasses for a celebratory toast.
With the official ceremony complete, we headed to Aero's famous colourful beach huts for their wedding portraits. Stephanie and Ian's elegant yet relaxed style complemented the vibrant backdrop perfectly. Their natural connection made capturing authentic moments effortless against the iconic island scenery.
Despite being mid-summer on a Saturday, the streets of Aero were surprisingly peaceful. This allowed us to explore the island's cobblestone streets without interruption, finding beautiful corners for photographs throughout the town.
The day concluded with a visit to a local ice cream shop, where the newlyweds enjoyed their first treat as a married couple - a sweet ending to their Aero Island elopement.
