Why Choose King’s Garden for Your Engagement?

Proposing in King’s Garden (Kongens Have) is such a romantic and timeless choice. Nestled in the heart of Copenhagen, this beautiful park offers so many picturesque and intimate spots, making it easy to find the perfect setting for your special moment. Plus, since it’s right in the city center, you’ll have plenty of wonderful cafés, restaurants, and shops nearby to celebrate afterward.

When it comes to choosing where to pop the question, there are plenty of stunning options. Most popular include (in front of) Rosenborg Castle (Rosenborg Slot) or in The Rose Garden (Rosenhaven). If you prefer something more private, there are plenty of hidden corners in the park where you can create a truly personal moment. And for those who appreciate literature and Danish culture, proposing near the Hans Christian Andersen monument could add a meaningful touch.

One thing to keep in mind is the time of day, season, and your partner’s personality. Mornings tend to be peaceful, while afternoons bring more energy and people. Spring and summer are full of blooming flowers, but don’t underestimate the beauty of winter—while the park may seem “dull” at first glance, it often looks absolutely magical in photos.

If you’re planning to capture the moment, consult with your photographer beforehand—they’ll know the best spots, lighting, and timing to make sure your memories are beautifully preserved.

    King’s Garden Proposal

When David reached out to me, he didn’t have a fixed plan for his Copenhagen proposal—he just knew he wanted to surprise his partner during their trip from the USA. With that in mind, I suggested King’s Garden, a place where they could find a bit of peace and quiet in the heart of Copenhagen.

I have to admit, the park is usually bustling with people at that time of day, but we got lucky—a light rain had just passed, leaving the park unusually calm and creating the perfect setting for an intimate proposal. The soft, post-rain atmosphere made everything feel even more special.

David chose the mini proposal session, so after the big moment, we took a short stroll through the park to capture a few more beautiful portraits.
