Open Air Wedding in Anløbet
Anløbet is tucked away in the charming Sydhavn residential area, surrounded by beautiful canals. Fun fact—this was actually the first neighbourhood I lived in when I moved to Copenhagen, so it holds a special place in my heart.
So, you can imagine my excitement when I received an inquiry from K + Y! After chatting with them and getting to know their vision, they decided to move forward, and I couldn’t wait to document their special day.

Anløbet — What Can you Expect?
For outdoor weddings, I always make sure to scout the location in advance to find the best spots for photos. Since I had never photographed a wedding at Anløbet before, I was especially excited to explore the area and plan ahead.
So, what are my first impressions, and what can I share with you if you’re considering this venue for your wedding?
Anløbet offers a cozy and intimate setting, perfect for couples looking for a simple yet beautiful backdrop. Surrounded by residential buildings and canals, it has a unique charm, and there’s even a small café nearby, which adds to the relaxed atmosphere. Even on a drizzly day, you can still say your vows outdoors next to the venue’s iconic little house—which makes for a romantic and unforgettable ceremony.
That said, there are a few things to keep in mind. Anløbet can get quite busy, with multiple couples eloping one after another. Also, since it’s in a residential area, there aren’t many options for a full wedding photoshoot on-site. If you’re looking for a variety of backdrops for portraits, I usually recommend heading to the city center, where we can capture more diverse and creative shots.
If you prefer to plan everything yourself, I highly recommend using Google Street View (look for Christian Langes Plads 16 2450 Copenhagen) to virtually explore the area before your wedding day.
Anløbet Open Air ceremony
Going back at K + Y’s wedding at Anløbet, one thing that made their day even more special was the presence of their beloved dog, who had travelled all the way from Germany with them. It was such a sweet reminder that weddings aren’t just about the couple—they’re about celebrating love with those who matter most, whether family, friends, or even a four-legged companion.
With their closest family gathered around, K + Y exchanged vows in an intimate, relaxed ceremony. We focused on capturing the raw emotions, the little glances, the happy tears, followed by group portraits and a small celebratory toast. It was simple yet meaningful—proof that a wedding doesn’t have to be grand to be absolutely perfect.
Wedding Celebration in Tivoli Gardens & Kilden
After the ceremony, K + Y continued their celebration at Kilden i Haven in Tivoli Gardens—a venue that holds a special place in my heart. It’s one of my absolute favorite locations for weddings, especially during the warmer months. The atmosphere is magical, and the interior is simply breathtaking, with its lush green glasshouse and modern Nordic design. The soft natural light filtering through the greenery made for the perfect backdrop for their wedding portraits before lunch.
For their micro-wedding, K + Y chose 2.5 hours of coverage, which allowed us to document both their heartfelt ceremony and the intimate moments of their reception. It was such a warm and personal celebration—proof that you don’t need a big wedding to create unforgettable memories.
