Wedding In Stevns City Hall
Some wedding days are filled with hundreds of guests, while others feel wonderfully quiet. Liz and Nicole travelled from Ireland to Denmark for an intimate Stevns City Hall wedding, choosing to celebrate with nobody but each other. Originally from Brazil and Panama, they exchanged their vows at the beginning of January before we spent the afternoon exploring the peaceful surroundings of Stevns together.
The weather was exactly what you might expect from Denmark in early January, with grey skies and soft winter light. Their choice of blue outfits complemented the muted surroundings beautifully, bringing a touch of colour to the winter landscape.
After the ceremony, we spent the next hour talking, taking photographs and making our way back towards Copenhagen. As Liz and Nicole were travelling without a car, we stayed close to Stevns City Hall and made the most of the nearby scenery. The quiet streets and open spaces suited the relaxed pace of the day and gave us plenty of opportunities for natural portraits.
One of my favourite parts of photographing intimate weddings is having time to get to know each couple. The drive back was filled with conversation, laughter and stories about how they met, what brought them to Denmark and the life they have built together in Ireland.
