Wedding at Scandic Palace Hotel, Copenhagen
Güliz and Leo celebrated their December micro-wedding in Copenhagen with just their closest people, saving the bigger party for late spring in Italy when the whole family could be there. Their ceremony took place at Scandic Palace Hotel, which is one of those Copenhagen wedding venues that not everyone knows about but really should. It sits right on Rådhuspladsen, just opposite Copenhagen City Hall, and for couples after something more private and intimate than a city hall wedding, it's a really lovely option. The ceremony room is simple: red carpet, warm light, nothing overdone. But that's honestly part of the charm. With a small group of guests around them and no unnecessary fuss, the whole day had this relaxed, unhurried feeling to it, the kind you can only really get when you keep things small and intentional.
Good to Know: Scandic Palace Hotel sits right on Rådhuspladsen, directly opposite Copenhagen City Hall, so you still get that iconic backdrop for photos without the full city hall process. You don’t have to stay in Scandic Palace Hotel to have a wedding ceremony there.
How Their Scandic Hotel Wedding Day Looked
We started at Marmorbroen for couple portraits. It was one of those sharp, clear winter days where the sun is bright but absolutely merciless, and Güliz and Leo were just glowing in it. So many good candid moments in those first twenty minutes alone.
Then we headed over to Restaurant 1733, where the families had gathered for brunch. A really nice way to structure the morning, giving everyone time to be together before the ceremony rather than rushing straight into it.
After brunch, we all walked together to Scandic Palace Hotel for the ceremony. Brief, sweet, full of feeling. Champagne came out right after, and then we made our way up to the hotel balcony for a few more photos with the Copenhagen rooftops behind them. We finished outside, with Copenhagen City Hall as the backdrop for the last set of portraits.
Honestly, the light that day was something else. And so were these two. Cheers to Güliz and Leo, and to the Italian celebrations coming up in spring!
