Wedding at Østre Anlæg Park, Copenhagen
An Østre Anlæg Park wedding wasn't exactly what Julia and Cyan had planned, but sometimes the unplanned days are the best ones.
Their ceremony was originally booked in Copenhagen. A few hours before, they found out the venue had been quietly moved to Stevns — courtesy of a wedding agency that forgot to mention it. They took one look at the situation, decided it wasn't worth the stress, and chose to spend photography time in Copenhagen doing what actually mattered to them: the city landscape in a non-stressful state of mind.
Good to Know: Østre Anlæg Park is a short walk from Nørreport Station, tucked close to the National Gallery of Denmark and some lovely old Copenhagen streets. It is much calmer than the city's more popular parks, which is exactly why it works so well for wedding photos. As of 2026, you can also hold your ceremony there — more details here.

Their Photowalk in Østre Anlæg Park
We started in Kongens Have (King’s Garden), just around the corner. It is a gorgeous park but was packed that afternoon, so we didn't last long before deciding to head over to Østre Anlæg instead. Much better idea!
The lilac was fully out, which only happens for a short window in late May, and the evening light was that warm, golden kind that makes everything look better than it has any right to. Julia's dress — incredibly detailed, one of the most beautiful I have photographed — was made for a setting like this. Cyan looked pretty good too.
Julia is from the States and Cyan is from Ireland, and between the two of them there was a lot of laughter and very little fuss. They are in their mid-forties and had this easy, playful energy together that made the whole session feel relaxed from the first frame. We wandered, talked, and let the park do most of the work.
