Copenhagen Couple Photoshoot
Kelly and Eoghan got in touch ahead of a babymoon trip to Copenhagen. Their little girl was due in October or November, so this late summer session was a chance to capture the two of them before everything changed. We had around 45 minutes on a Saturday afternoon, and the city was surprisingly quiet for a weekend.
We started at the Royal Library Garden, walked through to Christiansborg Palace, crossed Marmorbroen, and finished on Magstræde, one of Copenhagen's oldest streets and one of my favourite spots for photos. Cobblestones, crooked buildings, warm stone colours. It works in almost any light.
Kelly is a content creator, so being in front of a camera came naturally to her. That ease transferred to Eoghan too, and the two of them moved through the city without any stiffness or forced posing. I was essentially following two people on a nice afternoon walk together, which is the best position to be in as a photographer.
About Their Photoshoot On Film
This session was shot on film, with a digital camera alongside as a backup. With film there is always that small gap between pressing the shutter and actually seeing the results, and for a session with this much meaning behind it, a babymoon, a milestone, I wanted to make sure there was a safety net. The film photos came through beautifully. Soft highlights, warm tones, that particular quality you only really get from analogue. Such a joy to open the scans and see they had played out exactly as hoped!
By now their daughter has arrived. There is something quietly wonderful about looking back at these photos knowing that.
