Summer Wedding in stevns Klint
For nature-loving couples looking to elope in Denmark, Stevns Klint is a stunning alternative to getting married in Copenhagen. Just an hour’s drive from the city, this UNESCO World Heritage site offers dramatic chalk cliffs, breathtaking sea views, and a peaceful, intimate setting. Since public transport options are limited, the best way to get here is by private car. For more tips and tricks on planning a wedding in Stevns, you can read here.
J + E’s wedding took place at Stevns Town Hall in Store Heddinge. The ceremony itself was short and to the point—a minute shorter than in Copenhagen City Hall (yes, I’ve timed it over the years! :))). After the official part, we took a 10-minute drive to Stevns Klint and Højerup Church for their wedding portraits. This location is the most popular choice for couples getting married in Stevns, offering a scenic and historic setting for photos. The church itself dates back to the 13th century, but due to coastal erosion, part of it collapsed into the sea in 1928. Today, it stands right at the cliff’s edge, offering one of the most unique and breathtaking backdrops for photos.
We spent about an hour capturing their portraits, making the most of the stunning natural surroundings. The peaceful atmosphere, the endless sea views, and the rich history of the location made it a perfect spot to celebrate their love.
After we wrapped up, I left J + E to enjoy their first hours as newlyweds while I started my journey back to Copenhagen.
Their Stvens Klint love story is below.
