Wedding At The Helsingør Town Hall

L + N crossed borders for their secret Helsingør Town Hall wedding, travelling from Germany to tie the knot in this coastal Danish town. There's something really special about eloping to Denmark, and Helsingør Town Hall offers that perfect mix of history and straightforward administration.

The ceremony at Helsingør Town Hall was brief – just like at Copenhagen City Hall, they keep things simple and to the point. But despite being short, the moment was packed with emotion as these two made their commitment official in the town hall's ceremonial room.

What I loved about this couple was their youth energy – they were so genuinely happy throughout the day, which made capturing their joy really easy. Did you know that Helsingør Town Hall has been hosting international weddings for decades, making it one of Denmark's most popular wedding destinations for couples from abroad?

    Helsingør Town Hall Wedding Photowalk

After the paperwork was done, we set off on what's become the classic Helsingør Town Hall wedding photowalk. This route has become quite popular with my couples, and I can see why!

We started by walking through Helsingør's cobbled streets, with their colourful buildings providing a perfect backdrop. The town's old medieval centre looks amazing next to modern wedding outfits.

Next, we headed to Kronborg Castle. This UNESCO World Heritage site is actually Shakespeare's Elsinore – the setting for Hamlet! The castle's impressive Renaissance architecture and position overlooking the Øresund strait gave us some really striking photos. Interestingly, Kronborg Castle has served as a crucial toll collection point for over 400 years, with ships passing through the narrow strait having to pay fees to the Danish Crown.

We finished our session at the nearby cobbled beach, where I left the couple to enjoy their newly wed-lives. Take a look at their wedding story below.
