Intimate weddings in Copenhagen City Hall have a way of feeling completely their own, and Esti and Polina's October ceremony was one I won't forget in a hurry.
The two flew in from Israel just for this — making it official in one of Copenhagen's most recognisable buildings, with the city as their backdrop and nobody else's schedule to worry about. Their time inside was briefer than planned, as the venue was preparing for a major event that day and the ground floor was closed to wedding couples. It meant we had to keep things moving, but the energy between them was so warm and easy that it barely registered as a complication.

Then we headed outside, and October made itself known. It was stormy — proper rain, real wind, the kind of afternoon that makes every outdoor plan feel optimistic in hindsight. We had hoped the skies might clear. They did not.
Esti and Polina had brought a beautiful umbrella that ended up being one of my favourite details of the whole day. It suited their outfits in a way that felt completely uncontrived, and it gave the photos something to hold onto when the sky wasn't giving us much to work with. We made our way through Magstræde and a few more of Copenhagen's colourful old town streets — the kind of spots that look good regardless of the weather, where the painted facades do the heavy lifting even on a grey afternoon.
We finished on the corner near Katz restaurant, got the last few frames in, and I left the two of them to find somewhere warm together. Which, after all of that, seemed like exactly the right ending. Cheers to the couple and their love in the rain.
