Family Photography in Copenhagen/ Dominyka from Do Design + Edvinas
Family Photography in Copenhagen can be wonderfully personal, especially when the whole session takes place at home, where a family can relax and simply be themselves.
On an early Sunday morning in the middle of winter, I visited Dominyka and Edvinas in their cosy apartment in Sydhavn for a simple indoor family photoshoot. Their daughter had recently turned six months old, making it a lovely time to document this little stage of their family life.
For winter family photoshoots in Copenhagen, I often recommend staying indoors. There is no need to head outside and spend the session trying to keep warm when you can create beautiful, relaxed portraits in the comfort of your own home. An indoor session also gives little ones plenty of space to be themselves, without the cold weather getting in the way.
I especially loved the way Dominyka chose the colours and styling for their session. The warm brown palette worked beautifully with their home and felt very natural to the three of them. It also seemed to suit their personalities perfectly, creating a calm and understated setting for their family portraits.

The choice of colours was no coincidence. Dominyka, a former architect and now the creative mind behind the sustainable linen business Do Design, brought her own eye for design into the session. Everything felt considered without becoming too formal, and the photographs fitted naturally into the space they call home.
Our morning together was simple. We stayed inside, spent time with their little girl and created a collection of natural family portraits to remember her at six months old.
