Family photoshoot in Tivoli Gardens, Copenhagen was a lovely way for Brittany and Matt to document a special family trip from the USA, with their little boy experiencing his very first photoshoot.
The three of them were visiting Copenhagen for their holidays and wanted to spend some time at one of their favourite places in the city: Tivoli Gardens. They had visited the park before, but this time was different. Their little boy was about to turn one, and this was their first big trip together as a family, so they decided to make some memories along the way. It was also his very first photoshoot. And I have to say, he had plenty of ideas about how it should go!
The entrance to Tivoli Gardens is seasonal (usually operating in the warm season, leading up to Christmas). If you wish to visit Tivoli, please check their official website before you go. The starting entrance price is 155 DKK / ± 20 EU (& extra for the rides).
From the moment we started, he was full of energy and curiosity. There was always something new to look at, something to investigate or another little idea he wanted to try. Rather than trying to keep him in one place, we followed his lead and let him take us through the session at his own pace.
That is one of my favourite things about photographing families with little ones. You never quite know what is going to happen, and the best photographs often come from giving children the freedom to be themselves.
With the lovely weather on our side, we spent our time together enjoying Tivoli Gardens and making the most of everything around us. We photographed the three of them together, captured the little moments between them and, of course, followed their little one as he went from one idea to the next.
Brittany and Matt, thank you for bringing me along for a little part of your Copenhagen family holiday! I loved following your little one’s ideas and seeing Tivoli through his eyes.
