Portrait Photoshoot in Copenhagen

After photographing Outi’s wedding in 2024, I was very happy to meet her again for a Copenhagen portrait photoshoot, this time to create a new set of photographs for both her professional work and personal archives.

Outi is a professional musician and wanted to update her portraits for her professional portfolio, while also having a collection of photographs that felt more personal and reflected who she is at this point in her life.

We met on a gloomy Saturday morning in winter at her home, where we started the portrait photoshoot. After taking some photographs indoors, we headed outside and spent some time walking around her neighbourhood in Østerbro.

I always like to remind people that you do not need a studio or a “perfect” location for a portrait photoshoot in Copenhagen. Sometimes, the streets and places closest to home can be the best setting for photographs. Your own neighbourhood can give the images a more personal feeling, while also making the session feel relaxed and natural.

For me, photographing portraits is also about getting to know the person in front of my camera. I really enjoy these sessions because they give me the chance to connect with people beyond their photographs, and sometimes they even lead to new friendships.

Outi, thank you for inviting me to photograph you once again. After being part of your wedding day in 2024, it was lovely to meet you again and spend this winter morning together.
