Copenhagen City Hall LGBTQ+ Same Sex Wedding / Georgie + Marie

Queer Elopement in Copenhagen

Since 2012 Copenhagen City Hall is known for being an inclusive and LGBTQ+ friendly wedding venue. Almost about one-third of all weddings held at the City Hall accounts for same-sex marriage. No wonder why so many couples choose Copenhagen as their wedding destination — all genders and sexual orientations are celebrated.

Georgie and Marie, American-Danish couple, entrusted me to capture their special day in Copenhagen City Hall. They decided to forgo a large wedding with family and friends in favour of a more personal and private ceremony, witnessed by me (the photographer), the officiant & two other witnesses.

After exchanging the vows we decided to continue our photo session inside Copenhagen City Hall due to less uplifting weather outside. Who wants to embrace wind and rain when the City Hall is more than enough for a timeless wedding photo story?! :) The couple's chemistry shone through in every shot, and the elegant surroundings only added to the timeless feel of the pictures. Nevertheless, before leaving Georgie and Marie to celebrate their Big Day in the city, I invited them for a “challenge”. We did a few final portraits with the iconic Copenhagen City Hall building in the background — a beautiful reminder of their place of marriage for years to come.

Tillykke til Georgie og Marie!
