Planning Anniversary photo session in Copenhagen
Anniversary photos are somewhat less popular in Denmark compared to my own country, but from my past experience, I've found that it's a photoshoot commonly done during vacations. It's like hitting two birds with one stone, as I like to say — you get to explore a new city while capturing lasting memories. Charmain and MC, a queer couple from the UAE, reached out to me because they were planning a short vacation in Copenhagen and wanted to capture these special memories. Plus, they were also celebrating their wedding anniversary! Yes, “a tiny detail”, but so meaningful! :)
After a brief discussion, we decided that Superkilen Park in Nørrebro would be a great choice for their anniversary photoshoot in Copenhagen. Not only does it offer visually engaging backdrops, but this park also symbolizes urban diversity in Copenhagen. Among its unique features, you can find fountains from Morocco, swings from Iraq, benches from Brazil, and a black octopus slide from Japan. The space is popular with skateboarders, while the sculptural shapes and artistic lines make it an ideal backdrop for an Instagram post. And .. Superkilen Park is regularly listed as one of the best sights in the city and has won and been shortlisted for multiple global design and architecture awards, so indeed deserves a place in your Copenhagen vacation trip itinerary!
Charmaine's and MC's photoshoot in Superkilen Park was filled with laughter and so many smiles. It was delightful to witness their free spirits perfectly complementing the park's vibrant atmosphere. We spent a joyful half-hour exploring the park, and afterward, I left them to enjoy a coffee at one of Nørrebro's charming cafes. Check out their anniversary/vacation story in Copenhagen down below!
