Elopement in Copenhagen City Hall

Spring is one of the most beautiful seasons to elope at Copenhagen City Hall. Nature is starting to wake up (hey, we’re up north), and the city isn't too crowded with tourists yet, offering more opportunities for stunning wedding photography.

Melissa and Julian's elopement story in Copenhagen began with their intimate wedding inside the city hall. It happened to be election day, and the building was partially closed, so instead of taking photos inside the majestic hall, we decided to start the famous walk to Nyhavn, one of the most picturesque spots in Copenhagen.

As an experienced photographer, I usually advise couples to carefully consider whether they really want their portraits taken in this area during the afternoon, as it can be busy and a bit hectic at times. However, for Julian and Melissa, it was at the top of their list, so we stuck to the plan.

So, what was my take on this particular walk? Well, I have to admit I absolutely loved it. Melissa embraced her free spirit and even took off her shoes for an easier walk on the cobblestones. Be prepared — it can indeed be a challenge for some brides. Melissa and Julian’s outfits complemented the colourful houses beautifully, and we found a few perfect spots that matched their green-themed attire.
