Genevieve & Alex, a Canadian-British couple, envisioned a wedding that truly reflected their laid-back personalities and untraditional spirit. Tying the knot at Amager Beach Park wasn't just about saying "I do" – it was about embracing their journey together in a place that felt like home. With their cozy flat just a few blocks away, the beach became the perfect backdrop for their intimate DIY wedding. The couple also opted for an unusual time of the week, Sunday, making their celebration even more memorable.

On the day of their wedding, I eagerly awaited Genevieve’s arrival with Alex and the guests who had already arrived. She appeared, accompanied by her twin sister, wearing a nude embroidered long wedding dress – a perfect choice for a relaxed wedding! Since it was a very laid-back affair, their best friend initiated the wedding ceremony. Together, we chose a location for the ceremony a bit farther away from the beach visitors.
It was a beautiful celebration! Their witty personalities shone through during the vows and ring exchange, yet the ceremony was quite emotional. Afterward, we captured group shots and a few more intimate portraits with just the couple while the guests made their way to the reception area: the restaurant Mahalle Amager.
We were fortunate with the weather; the sun played hide-and-seek in the sky, with no signs of rain. For Genevieve & Alex, spending time with loved ones was the priority, so we didn't have a formal photoshoot. Instead, we captured a few key moments on Amager Beach to preserve the day exactly as it unfolded.
