Proposal at Haveselskabets Have
When Trygve reached out from Norway, he had one mission: surprise his girlfriend Maria with a proposal in Copenhagen. He needed help planning the whole thing, and I was so excited to work with him! What I loved about this booking was that Trygve just wanted the proposal itself captured—no engagement photos afterward. Sometimes that's exactly what couples want, and I totally get it.
Now, about the spot. I absolutely love this secret corner of Frederiksberg! Haveselskabets Have is this tiny park that honestly feels like a hidden treasure. It's perfect for quiet and intimate moments—the kind of place where you can actually hear each other speak and just be present. The best time for proposals here is spring through autumn when everything is lush and blooming, and if you do want to stick around for photos afterward, the park itself is gorgeous for that too.
Good to Know: Haveselskabets Have is super easy to reach from the city centre—just a quick trip on the metro. You're also right next to Frederiksberg Palace, so if you want to explore a bit before or after, there's plenty to see in the area!
The proposal happened on a sunny Saturday morning when Copenhagen was just starting to wake up. The golden autumn leaves were at their absolute peak. I got there early and waited at our planned spot, and when I spotted Trygve and Maria walking toward me, I could feel how nervous and excited he was.
It was such a joy to photograph this young couple! Maria had no idea what was coming and her reaction was so genuine and sweet. After Trygve got down on one knee and she said yes (with happy tears, of course!), I quietly stepped back and let them have their moment. They had the rest of their Copenhagen trip to enjoy as a newly engaged couple.
