    Ærø Wedding

Planning an Ærø wedding and considering an Ærø Kommune marriage? Ilai and Jonathan travelled from Israel with their immediate family to celebrate their day on this small Danish island, choosing a simple and meaningful approach.

We first met at Andelen Guesthouse, a popular place for couples staying on the island. The atmosphere was calm from the start. Everyone was relaxed, taking their time, and enjoying the morning together. From there, we walked slowly towards Ærøskøbing Town Hall, turning the journey itself into part of the experience.

That Friday felt especially quiet and easygoing. Even though several couples were getting married that morning, the town never felt crowded. It had that balance Ærø is known for, where things are happening, but still feel personal.

The ceremony itself followed the classic Ærø Kommune marriage format. Short, sincere, and focused on the couple. After exchanging vows, they shared a glass of champagne, taking a moment together before heading back outside.

After the ceremony, we moved through Ærøskøbing and beyond, shaping the session around what felt right for them. They decided to skip the well-known beach huts, which are often part of an Ærø wedding, and instead went for something quieter.

We visited a more secluded harbour and marina, where the atmosphere felt calm and open. From there, we passed through the colourful streets of the town, taking a mix of couple and family photos along the way. It gave the whole session a natural flow, without feeling staged or rushed.

What stayed with me most from this Ærø wedding was the mood of the day. It felt light, warm, and genuinely joyful. Getting to know them and their family, hearing about their plans, and being part of that moment was a real pleasure.
