Classic Odense Photo Locations for Wedding Pictures
These five locations are the absolute classics—and the best part? They're all within walking distance of each other, so you won't need any transport. This is the tried-and-true route that practically every Odense couple follows on their wedding day, and honestly, it works beautifully. You can easily move between spots, capturing different vibes without any stress or rushing about in a car.
Eventyrhaven
This is hands down the most popular choice for couples getting married at Odense City Hall, and for good reason. The fairytale garden, with its pretty bridges, winding paths, and lush greenery, creates such a lovely backdrop—it's literally called "The Fairytale Garden," which feels rather fitting for a wedding day. It's just a short walk from the city hall, making it incredibly convenient for post-ceremony photos.
Address: Eventyrhaven, 5000 Odense (Google Maps)
H.C. Andersen's House & Colourful Streets
You simply can't visit Odense without embracing its Hans Christian Andersen heritage. The area around the new H.C. Andersen's House and Museum is full of vibrant, colourful streets that photograph beautifully—those yellow, red, and pastel facades create such a cheerful, storybook atmosphere. It's one of those quintessentially Odense photo spots that you'll be glad you didn't skip. I particularly love the streets Bangs Boder and Nedergade for that classic colourful Odense vibe.
Address: H.C. Andersen Haven 1, 5000 Odense C (Google Maps)
Odense Kongens Have & Odense Castle
Located conveniently near the train station, Kongens Have (The King's Garden) offers beautifully maintained gardens and the elegant Odense Castle as a backdrop. The formal gardens with their neat hedges and pathways give a more polished, classical feel to your photos, whilst still being green and romantic. It's a lovely Odense photo location if you're arriving by train and want something a bit more minimalist—the white castle provides a clean, elegant backdrop. The area is particularly beautiful in spring with cherry blossom trees.
Address: Jernbanegade, 5000 Odense (Google Maps)

Sankt Knuds Church or Church of Our Lady Vor Frue Kirke
If you're looking for dramatic indoor photos with a religious touch, Sankt Knuds Church is absolutely stunning. The soaring Gothic architecture, beautiful altarpiece, and atmospheric lighting inside create incredibly moving photographs. Even if you're not getting married here, it's worth popping in for a few formal portraits. Please be considerate of the environment and ask the guard for permission. Also, check the opening hours beforehand—both churches aren't open every day.
Address: Dronning Christines Pl. 1, 5000 Odense (Google Maps)
Munke Mose
In case Eventyrhaven wasn't quite enough greenery for you, Munke Mose is another lovely nature spot right in the city centre. This park surrounds a peaceful lake with willow trees, water reflections, and open green spaces—plus there's an iconic Sea Horse monument in the middle of the lake that makes for a fun, unique backdrop in your Odense photo collection.
Address: Havhesten, Filosofgangen, 5000 Odense (Google Maps)
Instagram-Friendly Café Photo Spots in Odense
The best photos happen when you're just being yourselves—sharing a coffee, laughing over pastries, or simply taking a breather from the day. If you're looking for more intimate Odense photo spots beyond the classic gardens and churches, these cafés are absolutely lovely for those candid, "in the moment" shots.
Just remember to ask the café for permission first and grab a drink or bite to eat whilst you're there!
Nelle's Odense Teater
Stylish and artistic vibes all around. I particularly love the pink arches and those big, bright windows that let in gorgeous natural light.
Address: Jernbanegade 21, 5000 Odense (Google Maps)
Café Nær & Mikrobageri
Cosy and authentically Danish. The wooden elements paired with soft pastel colours make it one of my favourite low-key Odense photo locations for relaxed couple portraits.
Address: Albanigade 17, 5000 Odense (Google Maps)
Analog Kaffebar
Perfect if you're both coffee lovers. The exposed brick walls inside photograph beautifully, and there's outdoor seating too if you want a more casual street-side vibe.
Address: Albanigade 17, 5000 Odense (Google Maps)
Best Photo Locations Near Odense (If You Have a Car)
If you're up for a short drive and want your photos to feel more removed from the city, these Odense photo locations offer stunning natural backdrops that are well worth the journey.
Sanderumgaard Gods og Den Romantiske Have
As the name suggests, "The Romantic Garden" is absolutely dreamy. This English-style landscape garden feels wonderfully secluded, with winding paths, mature trees, and peaceful garden rooms that photograph beautifully. It's about 20 minutes from central Odense and perfect if you're after something more intimate and less touristy. The garden has an entry fee during the warm season and is closed on Mondays, so do plan ahead.
Address: Sanderumgårdvej 150, 5220 Odense (Google Maps)
Stige Ø or Langesø
Both of these lake locations offer gorgeous natural settings if you want to escape the city entirely. The waterside scenery, open skies, and peaceful surroundings create a completely different mood—ideal for couples who love the outdoors and want their photos to feel a bit more wild and free. Langesø is slightly easier to reach by public transport if you don't have a car on the day.
Address: Langesøvej 146A, 5462 Morud & 5000, Odense C (Google Maps)
Skovsøen
This forest lake is an absolute gem and one of my favourite nature-focused Odense photo spots. Surrounded by woodland and offering lovely reflections on calm days, it's perfect if you want photos that feel natural and away from it all. It has a fountain and multiple bridges, giving you plenty of variety in one location. Out of these three suggestions, Skovsøen is the most accessible—roughly 30 minutes by public transport or under 10 minutes by car.
Address: Sejerskovvej 17B, 5260 Odense (Google Maps)
