Roskilde Wedding / Freja + Phillip
Roskilde is such a wonderful choice for Danish weddings, just a quick 30-minute train ride from Central Copenhagen. What I love about this charming city is its serene atmosphere and beautiful settings for wedding ceremonies and receptions. The best part? You can escape the hustle and bustle of the city within a short 10-minute drive and immerse yourself in nature. Roskilde offers the perfect balance of convenience and natural beauty, making it an unforgettable place to start your married life journey.
Freja and Phillip, a Danish couple, first reached out to me at the beginning of 2021 with plans for their mid-summer wedding. They envisioned a classic Danish celebration steeped in tradition, complete with a sizeable guest list of around 80 cherished friends and family members.
During our initial video chat, we discussed their wedding day desires, and it became clear that capturing the entire day, culminating in their first dance, would be the perfect coverage for them.
The official ceremony took place at the historic Roskilde Domkirke, setting the stage for a truly memorable exchange of vows. Following this, the festivities continued at the picturesque Skjoldenæsholm Hotel & Konferencecenter. Please note, if you’re also planning this place for reception it's worth noting that public transport might pose a challenge for guests without their own vehicle. Yet, it’s undoubtedly a hidden gem worth visiting or even spending a weekend exploring on Sjaelland.
