Destination Wedding In Denmark
Amber and Nathaniel's wedding journey brought them to the stunning Bernstorff Palace in Denmark on a sunny spring day. The idea to document their special day through wedding photography came from Amber's brother, who took the lead in organising the event. Even though I hadn't met the couple until the day of the wedding, a virtual meeting with her brother and heartfelt email conversation made me feel like I already knew them. With guests traveling from the USA, Denmark served as the perfect backdrop, blending the couple's heritage with contemporary charm. I eagerly awaited the chance to capture the love, laughter, and cherished moments of their intimate, multicultural celebration.

Getting ready in Bernstorff Palace
The entirety of their wedding unfolded within Bernstorff Palace. Amber's bridal preparations took place in one of the palace's basement rooms, a space adorned with rustic decor and minimalist touches that instantly captured my heart. As I entered the room, I couldn't help but admire the Danish design aesthetic that permeated the space. The bride's makeup was skillfully applied by one of her closest friends, who knew her better than anyone else. The room buzzed with excitement and anticipation as guests eagerly awaited Amber's appearance. Just moments away from the ceremony, an electric energy filled the air, setting the stage for a truly magical day.
wEDDING ceremony and Reception in Bernstorff Slot
Wedding ceremony took the place on the ground floor of Bernstorff Slot, where Nathaniel awaited Amber's arrival with patience. Escorted by her father, Amber walked down the aisle to the tune of their chosen song. The official ceremony, led by one of their guests, commenced, culminating in the exchange of vows and rings, sealing the couple's union.
Amidst the applause and warm greetings of the guests, the festivities continued with outdoor group photos against the stunning backdrop of Bernstorff Palace. The atmosphere was relaxed, with everyone eagerly anticipating the next chapter of the wedding - the food!
During the reception, guests indulged in a buffet featuring mini burgers, salads, and chips, with a touch of American flair. The cake, decorated with the Danish flag, symbolised a beautiful fusion of both worlds, adding a thoughtful touch to the celebration.
Wedding Photoshoot in Bernstorff Park
Shortly after the reception in Bernstorff Slot, Amber and Nathaniel's photoshoot unfolded in the nearby Bernstorff Park, renowned for its natural beauty in Greater Copenhagen. One of the park's highlights is its dog-friendly policy, which added a relaxed and spontaneous vibe to our session. Unsurprisingly, Amber even made a new furry friend during our time there.
As the photoshoot wrapped up, I bid farewell to the couple. Their next adventure awaited in the Faroe Islands and Iceland, so they had some "homework" to do before their next stop.
