Photographing International Couples Getting Married in Vordingborg

First of all, congratulations on your engagement and on choosing Vordingborg for your wedding day.

If you’re travelling to Denmark from abroad, Vordingborg is a wonderful place for an intimate wedding. The town combines centuries of Danish history with peaceful streets, green spaces and one of Denmark’s most recognisable medieval landmarks. It’s a relaxed setting where your wedding can feel private without sacrificing beautiful locations for your photographs.

As of 2026, civil wedding ceremonies take place in the Vordingborg Municipality building on Valdemarsgade, making it easy to walk directly into the town for portraits after your ceremony.

As your wedding photographer in Vordingborg, my focus is on documenting the day as it naturally unfolds. My role isn’t to turn your wedding into a photoshoot. It’s to document the day as it happens, stepping in with gentle direction only when you need it. The laughs between portraits, the quiet moments after the ceremony and the excitement of finally being married are the photographs couples usually treasure most years later.

When it’s time for portraits, I provide enough guidance for you to feel comfortable while keeping everything relaxed. Most couples tell me they’re surprised by how easy and enjoyable the experience feels, even if they’ve never been professionally photographed before.

Why I Love Photographing Weddings in Vordingborg

One of the reasons I enjoy photographing weddings here is that everything is within easy walking distance.

Many couples book one hour of photography, which is usually the perfect amount of time after the ceremony. We leave the municipality building together and take a relaxed walk through town, creating natural portraits along the way before arriving at Vordingborg Castle, one of the area’s most iconic locations.

Although much of the medieval castle has disappeared over the centuries, it remains one of Denmark’s most historically important castle ruins. The famous Goose Tower (Gåsetårnet), built in the 1300s, is the only fully preserved tower from the original castle and has become the symbol of Vordingborg. The castle grounds provide a beautiful mix of old stone ruins, open parkland and waterfront views, giving your gallery plenty of variety without needing to travel between locations.

For couples wanting a little more variety, many choose to continue their portraits back in Copenhagen afterwards. With the city only around an hour away, it’s an easy way to include two very different settings in the same wedding gallery.

The Person Behind The Camera

I'm Ieva Vi, and I've been photographing weddings since 2020 when I moved to Denmark.

Since 2020, I’ve photographed more than 100 weddings for couples travelling from all over the world to get married in Denmark. Many of the people I photograph tell me they feel awkward in front of a camera, and that’s completely normal. My approach is calm, relaxed and unobtrusive, allowing you to focus on each other instead of thinking about the photographs.

Before getting in touch, I invite you to browse my portfolio and explore some of the weddings and elopements I’ve photographed across Denmark. It’s the best way to see whether my style feels like the right fit for your wedding day.

If it does, I’d love to hear about your plans and answer any questions you may have. Let’s connect over Instagram or email and /or grab a virtual coffee to discuss how we can make your wedding day in Vordingborg YOURS! ♥️
