Film Development in Copenhagen
Film development in Copenhagen has become a bigger part of how I work, especially as I’ve started incorporating film into my wedding and proposal packages more regularly. There’s something about the look and feel that digital just doesn’t quite replicate, and my couples have really responded to it.
Over time, I’ve tested a number of labs across the city, and these are the ones I keep coming back to. I hope this gives you a bit of inspiration to try film yourself, or at least makes the process feel easier if you’re already shooting.
Let’s get into it.
Shutterbug
Shutterbug is one of my go-to labs in Copenhagen for consistent and reliable film development. The team is experienced, turnaround times are usually quick, and I’ve always been happy with the scans I receive back. If I drop off film in the morning, I can often expect to receive the files the same day without paying any extra rush fee, which is incredibly useful during busy wedding periods.
They also offer a simple loyalty system where you can collect stamps with each order and the 10th development is free of charge. , which is a nice bonus if you’re developing film regularly.
Starting Price (Scan + Development): from 125 DKK (incl. VAT)

Address: Vesterbrogade 57, 1620 Vesterbro
Photocare
Photocare is a convenient option with several locations across Greater Copenhagen, which makes it easy to drop off film no matter where you are in the city. It’s especially useful if you need something accessible and straightforward without going out of your way.
The quality is consistent, though turnaround times are typically longer compared to Shutterbug, so it’s worth planning ahead if you’re working on a tighter schedule. Like Shutterbug, they also offer a stamp-based loyalty system, where you can get rewarded after 6 & 10 invoices.
Starting Price (Scan + Development): from 119 DKK (incl. VAT)

Address: Frederiksborggade 23, 1360 Indre By
Silver Lab
Silver Lab offers a more boutique-style experience and is a great choice if you’re working more seriously with film or want a slightly more tailored approach. The quality is excellent, and I tend to use them when I want consistency across larger batches or a bit more attention to detail.
It’s worth noting that their setup is a bit different from the more central, walk-in style labs, and they also operate with shorter opening hours. That said, it’s a great option if you plan ahead and value the more specialised service.
They don’t have a loyalty stamp system, but they do offer B2B pricing. If you run a business, you can set this up and receive invoices for your orders. If not, you can still get a discount when submitting larger batches, typically over 10 rolls, so it’s always worth asking.
Starting Price (Scan + Development): from 160 DKK (incl. VAT)

Address: Vermundsgade 40C, Stuen, 2100 København
Final Thoughts on Film Development in Copenhagen
Copenhagen has a solid selection of film labs, and you really can’t go too wrong with any of these. It mostly comes down to what you value more, whether that’s speed, convenience, or a slightly more tailored service.
If you’re thinking about adding film into your own workflow, especially for weddings or proposals, I’d say start simple. Shoot a few rolls, test a lab, and see how it feels. It doesn’t need to be complicated.
