When it comes to weddings, I believe that true beauty lies not only in the exquisite details or the flawlessly executed first dance. While these aspects undoubtedly contribute to the joyous atmosphere, what truly lingers in our memories are the weddings where a dedicated team of vendors collaborates seamlessly, ensuring an unforgettable day.
As a Copenhagen wedding photographer, I recognise the significance of reliable and talented vendors who play a vital role in the event's overall success. Today, I am thrilled to showcase the exceptional talents of two remarkable wedding musicians: opera singer Karolina Delanoue and harpist Olga Andreeva, collectively known as the Voice and Harp Duo. I had the pleasure of getting to know them better, and I am delighted to share this interview with you.

Karolina & Olga, Can You Tell Us A little bit About Your Background & Training?
We were inspired to play together by our shared love of music and desire to create a unique and enchanting experience for their listeners. We both have a deep appreciation for the beauty and complexity of classical music and are passionate about bringing this genre to life through their performances. Because of the strong professional background we are diving into many different genres, but most often they play popular world songs that are a perfect match for soft dark voice and romantic sound of the harp.
Karolina: For me, the love of music started at a young age. I grew up listening to her mother's piano playing and was immediately drawn to the beauty and emotion of the music. I went to study classical singing at university in Lithuania and Austria, and has since performed at many prestigious venues around Europe.
Olga: I have been playing the harp since I was a child and always been captivated by its ethereal sound. I studied music too at university and since then established myself as a talented harpist, performing at concerts, weddings, corporate events, and private parties.
Where is your base? Do you travel outside Denmark?
Most often we are playing in Sjælland (Copenhagen) but for a special demand we can travel further. Even to another country!

What genre do you play and how would you describe your musical style?
In addition to our classical concert repertoire, we very often perform a wide range of romantic and popular songs. Their versatility allows us to cater to the specific musical preferences of each couple and make their special day even more personalised.
We understand that every bride has a unique vision for their wedding, including the music they would like to hear. Therefore, we are happy to work with brides to perform songs outside of their usual repertoire, provided we have adequate time to prepare.
From Your Experience, What Are The Most Popular Songs For The Bride And Groom’s First Dance?
While the choice of songs for the bride and groom's first dance can vary based on personal preferences and individual style, the following have consistently been in high demand (songs open in new tab)":

How Many Hours Do You Usually Perform At A Wedding?
We usually perform during the wedding ceremony, from 20 min to 60min (if also including a reception):
15min harp solo intro while the guests are coming to the church or other ceremony place
Romantic or sacred song for the bride’s entrance
1-2 songs during the ceremony after the vows
Bride and groom exit song
If A Couple Would Love To Have You During Their Wedding, How Much They Should Expect To Invest?
For the wedding ceremony our starting price is 4000 DKK + transportation.
Wedding ceremony + reception program (from 20 min to 45 min) starts from 6000 DKK + transportation
