Getting Married at Frederiksberg Town Hall
Both from Brazil and now settled in Ireland, Val and Cleyton made the trip to Denmark for their wedding in Frederiksberg Town Hall. Leaving behind the routine of everyday life to do something entirely on your own terms, just the two of you, is something I find really special about couples who choose to elope this way.
Cloudy it may have been that Saturday morning in May, but the mood between them was warm and easy from the very first moment. Camera shy was how Val had described them both beforehand, and yet from the moment we started shooting, that simply did not show. Relaxed, natural and completely themselves, they were a joy to photograph.
Worth Knowing if you are booking a Saturday wedding: there is sometimes a second hand market outside the town hall on Saturday mornings, so the area can be a bit busier than you might expect. It is nothing that gets in the way, but good to know when you are planning the day.
Wedding Ceremony in Frederiksberg Town Hall
The ceremony itself was a beautiful moment. Cleyton teared up during the vows, and the photos from inside Frederiksberg Town Hall really do say it all. That kind of emotion just happens, and when it does it makes for the most honest pictures.
After the ceremony we headed to Haveselskabets Have for outdoor portraits. May is a wonderful time of year for a wedding in Frederiksberg Town Hall. The gardens were fresh and green, and even with cloud cover the light was soft and easy to work with. The couple had brought heart-shaped sunglasses along, which suited them perfectly. And a fun detail: Val and Cleyton have over 100 tattoos between them, which looked absolutely great in the portraits.
